serpentine belt on buick lasabre newbie w/Impala LS, some questions
Hello All: After 14 years of almost predominantly Chrysler ownership, I just bought my first GM car, an Impala LS. So far, we love the car, but I have a few questions about the 3800V6; 1) I can see the oil filter from above, but it looks as if I need to get it from below. Is it a pain to get to/off? 2) Spark plugs looks as if 5 are easy to get to, and one is a pain. It looks as if the alternator needs to swing out, but it is hard to tell....do the heater hoses really go through the alternator? 3) 50% of the people I talk to say get the DEXCOOL out, and go back to the ol'green antifreeze; comments, please! I like to do my own belts, hoses, spark plugs, and oil changes. From there, I generally let a mechanic handle the other stuff. Maybe the spark plugs are too tough to do on this car? I'd like to hear what you guys think of this car and the 3.8; thanks for your time in replying! Bill 88 Lancer Shelby 91 LeBaron Convertible 00 Chevy Impala LS
